What You’ll Do:
· Safe and Efficient Operation: Safely operate commercial vehicles in compliance with all traffic laws and regulations.
· Loading and Unloading: Secure scrap metal materials onto the trailer, ensuring proper weight distribution and safe transportation.
· Route Planning: Plan and follow designated delivery routes, considering traffic conditions, road closures, and the most efficient paths to minimize travel time.
· Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on the vehicle, reporting any issues promptly to the maintenance department.
· Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
· Documentation: Complete all necessary paperwork, such as delivery logs, bills of lading, and other documentation required for the delivery and receipt of scrap metal materials.
· Customer Interaction: Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers and clients during pickups and deliveries.
· Environmental Responsibility: Handle scrap metal materials in an environmentally responsible manner, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
· Communication: Maintain effective communication with dispatch and operations teams to ensure the efficient execution of deliveries and pickups.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Valid CDL (Class A) with a clean driving record.
· Minimum of [5] years of commercial driving experience.
· Experience pulling doubles required!
· Knowledge of FMCSA regulations and safety procedures.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
· Ability to lift and move heavy materials.
· Ability to strap own load
· Excellent communication and customer service skills.
· Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
· High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Work Schedule:
· Five days a week, day shift, Monday through Friday. Weekends off for a work-life balance.
