Harmony Early Learning Center is looking for a warm, energetic, and dedicated Afternoon Teacher Assistant to join our team in Secaucus, NJ! Responsibilities:
- Support lead teachers in implementing daily lesson plans and age-appropriate learning activities
- Supervise and engage children during afternoon routines, including snack time, rest time, and play
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment for all children
- Assist with classroom management and behavior guidance using positive reinforcement techniques
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians during afternoon pick-up
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom space
- Observe and report on children's developmental progress and daily needs
- High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred
- Prior experience working with young children in a daycare, preschool, or childcare setting
- Warm, patient, and nurturing demeanor with a genuine love for working with children
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to pass a background check and meet NJ childcare licensing requirements
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to afternoon shift availability
