We proudly support numerous public infrastructure clients including the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), New York City Transit (NYCT), Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ), New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT), and other regional and municipal agencies.
As we continue to expand our portfolio of transit and infrastructure projects, we are seeking an experienced and proactive Construction Inspectors for high-profile NYCT assignments.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Serve as an on-site Construction Inspector overseeing contractor and subcontractor activities at NYCT stations.
- Inspect civil, mechanical, electrical, communications, and related construction to ensure compliance with contract documents, drawings, specifications, and NYCT requirements.
- Coordinate with contractor supervision and project staff to identify and resolve field issues.
- Prepare daily inspection reports, field reports, and required project documentation.
- Verify approved materials and maintain Certificates of Compliance, MSDS/SDS, test reports, inspection tags, and related records.
- Coordinate surveying, material testing, and other specialty inspection activities.
- Monitor job-site safety and quality-control requirements and document deficiencies and corrective actions.
- Verify installed quantities to support payment applications and change orders.Coordinate field inspection activities and review the work of other Inspectors/Representatives.
- Coordinate with Resident Engineers / PMC team regarding construction progress, quality, safety, schedule, and contract compliance.
- Respond to project-site callbacks and emergency situations, as required.
- Maintain organized inspection records and assist with other field and project-management activities as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- OSHA-30 certifications required. MTA Track Safety and PMG123 preferred.
- 1-5 years of construction experience working with NYCT / MTA / LIRR / Amtrak or similar public agency projects preferred.
- Excellent teamwork and communication abilities to coordinate with project staff, contractors, and client representatives.
