Salary: $110,000–$130,000 (Based on Experience)
About the Opportunity
A growing multi-location transportation organization is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee payroll operations and ensure the accurate, timely processing of employee payroll. This individual will play a key role in maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations while partnering closely with Human Resources, Finance, and Operations to support payroll reporting, reconciliations, and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full-cycle payroll process for a multi-location transportation organization.
- Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on schedule while maintaining compliance with all federal, state, local, and wage and hour regulations.
- Oversee payroll reconciliations, reporting, and financial analysis.
- Partner with Human Resources, Finance, and Operations to resolve payroll-related questions and discrepancies.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel to prepare reports, analyze payroll data, and perform reconciliations (including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, formulas, and filtering).
- Maintain payroll records while ensuring the confidentiality and security of employee information.
- Assist with payroll audits and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, increase efficiency, and enhance reporting capabilities.
- Support the finance team with payroll-related projects and other departmental initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of payroll experience, preferably within a transportation, logistics, or multi-location organization.
- Union payroll experience is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of payroll laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas, and data analysis.
- Experience with payroll systems and HRIS platforms.
- Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting strict payroll deadlines.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
