Dental Assistant – Abercorn Dental

Abercorn Dental is seeking a dependable, energetic, and patient-focused Dental Assistant to join our team in Savannah, Georgia.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with patients and providers, stays organized in a fast-paced clinical environment, and takes pride in helping the dental team deliver an excellent patient experience.

Location: 1310 Abercorn St., Savannah, GA 31401

Responsibilities

  • Assist the dentist during a variety of dental procedures
  • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials before patient appointments
  • Welcome patients and help them feel comfortable throughout their visit
  • Take and process dental radiographs as permitted by applicable regulations
  • Support infection-control, sterilization, and operatory turnover procedures
  • Maintain organized clinical areas and ensure supplies are properly stocked
  • Record clinical information and assist with accurate patient documentation
  • Provide patients with post-treatment instructions as directed by the dentist
  • Coordinate effectively with doctors, hygienists, front-office team members, and other clinical staff
  • Help maintain efficient patient flow throughout the day
  • Follow HIPAA, OSHA, infection-control, and office safety standards
  • Assist with additional clinical and administrative duties as needed

Experience & Qualifications

  • Previous dental assisting experience is preferred
  • Dental assisting education or certification is a plus
  • Experience taking dental X-rays is preferred where applicable
  • Strong communication and patient-service skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational ability
  • Comfortable working in a busy, team-oriented dental environment
  • Dependable, professional, and willing to learn
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both patients and team members
  • Understanding of infection-control and patient-confidentiality requirements
