Job description:
The Whitney Academy, Inc., is a unique, Joint Commission accredited, residential treatment center, serving adolescent boys with cognitive delays, psychiatric diagnoses and behavior problems. We are currently accepting applications for a Maintenance position in one of our Community Residences.
Maintenance Person Monday - Friday (7:00am - 3:00pm)
Duties Include:
- General knowledge of home repair, including minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry (including sheet rock repair, minor construction, etc.)
- Assists in the on-going repair and maintenance of all the physical plants and furnishings
- Assures vehicle maintenance schedules are followed per owner’s manual recommendations
- Maintains compliance with the purchase order system in the purchase of non-stocked parts and supplies
- Assist with seasonal decorating
- Assist with groundskeeping duties
- Must be available/on-call for emergencies as well as shoveling and snow plowing
- Responsible for following maintenance policies and procedures
- Other related duties as determined necessary by the Department Head
Requirements:
- Maintenance experience is required
- Must maintain DOT certification
- Must possess a minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
- A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for transportation
- RMV and CORI checks are required
