Location: Roseland, NJ — On-site in our professional office, with daily opportunities to collaborate directly with experienced attorneys and a highly supportive legal team.

Note: Candidates must have a J.D. from an accredited law school, an active New Jersey law license in good standing, and 4+ years of relevant civil litigation experience. Candidates must also be capable of independently managing active litigation matters and have experience with depositions, motion practice, discovery, and court appearances.

Job Description

  • Independently manage active civil litigation matters from initial strategy through resolution.
  • Work closely with senior attorneys on complex litigation and client matters.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and develop practical, effective litigation strategies.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, correspondence, and other legal documents.
  • Handle all phases of discovery, including preparing, responding to, and managing discovery requests.
  • Take and defend depositions and assist with witness preparation.
  • Prepare matters for trial and participate in trial-related activities.
  • Attend court conferences, hearings, and other litigation proceedings.
  • Support municipal and government law matters, including redevelopment and long-term tax exemption work.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and clients to provide responsive, business-focused legal guidance.
  • Continue developing substantive legal knowledge and advocacy skills through increasingly sophisticated assignments.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active New Jersey law license in good standing.
  • 4+ years of relevant civil litigation experience.
  • Ability to independently manage an active litigation caseload.
  • Experience with depositions, motion practice, discovery, and court appearances.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
  • Municipal or government law experience strongly preferred.
  • Redevelopment and long-term tax exemption experience is a plus.
  • Strong work ethic, judgment, attention to detail, and desire to learn and grow.
