Electrical Engineering Technician
Location: Oak Brook, Onsite (occasional remote flexibility)
Contract Length: Through December 2026, with potential for full-time conversion
Compensation: $30-$35/hr
Position Summary
We're seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Technician to support our Electrical and Firmware Engineering team in a fast-paced product development environment. This is a hands-on role focused on prototype builds, troubleshooting, testing, and board rework while working closely with engineers throughout the development process.
Responsibilities
- Perform fine-pitch soldering, PCB modifications, and circuit board rework
- Support Electrical and Firmware Engineers with product development activities
- Conduct RF, thermal, and power supply testing
- Load and update firmware on development hardware
- Troubleshoot electronic assemblies, prototypes, and circuit boards
- Order components, equipment, and engineering lab supplies
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of shared lab spaces
- Support and promote 6S workplace standards
- Document findings and communicate results to engineering teams
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as an Electronics Technician, Electrical Engineering Technician, or similar role
- Strong fine-pitch soldering and PCB rework experience
- Experience troubleshooting electronic hardware and prototypes
- Experience working directly with Electrical and/or Firmware Engineers
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in an R&D or product development environment
- Experience with RF, thermal, or power testing
- Experience supporting embedded systems and firmware updates
