Assembler - 3rd shift

Assembler 1, General – Sumter, SC

Pay Rate: $18.50/hour

SCHEDULE: 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM

H Shift: 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off. Weekends included.
Openings: 2 positions

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking Assembler 1, General candidates for a Press Operator position in a manufacturing environment. The selected candidates will operate heated press equipment, perform quality checks on rubber stopper pads, and use basic hand tools to support production. Previous manufacturing experience is preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate a heated press machine safely and efficiently.
• Conduct quality checks on rubber stopper pads according to established specifications.
• Use mallet hammers and other basic hand tools during production.
• Perform fabrication, manufacturing, assembly, testing, and packaging tasks as assigned.
• Set up and operate production equipment and perform basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Follow SOPs, quality guidelines, and established manufacturing procedures.
• Read, write, interpret, and comprehend specifications and instructions written in English.
• Perform basic mathematical calculations and use basic measurement tools as required.
• Maintain close attention to detail and identify quality issues during production.
• Work collaboratively with coworkers, Team Leads, and Supervisors.
• Rotate between different tasks and responsibilities as needed.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.

REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous manufacturing or assembly experience preferred.
• Must be comfortable operating a heated press machine.
• Must be comfortable using a mallet hammer and other hand tools.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Steel-toe or composite-toe shoes are required.
• Eye exam required.
• Drug screening is not required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Position is located in the Rubber Department.
• The work environment is not climate controlled.
• The position requires regular standing and walking and may involve physically demanding production activities.
• Employees may occasionally be required to lift or move at least 50 pounds.
