Roof Service Technician & Inspector
Job Description
220 Roofing & Restoration is seeking a motivated and experienced Roof Service Technician to investigate roofing concerns, perform inspections, diagnose issues, and help homeowners understand their options.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, working independently, interacting with customers, and has a strong understanding of roofing systems and building code requirements.
Responsibilities
- Respond to service calls, leak investigations, and repair requests
- Safely access and inspect residential roofing systems
- Diagnose roofing issues and determine appropriate repair solutions
- Evaluate repairs for code compliance and installation best practices
- Document findings with photos, measurements, and detailed notes
- Communicate repair recommendations clearly to homeowners
- Identify situations where a full roof replacement may be more appropriate than a repair
- Coordinate with office staff, subcontractors, and field crews as needed
- Assist with scheduling and field coordination when necessary
- Maintain professional customer relationships and represent the company positively
Qualifications
- Comfortable working on roofs and at heights
- Working knowledge of residential roofing systems
- Understanding of Virginia building codes and roofing best practices preferred
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to communicate technical information to homeowners in an easy-to-understand manner
- Sales experience preferred
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Basic technology skills for photos, notes, and communication
Compensation
- Base compensation based on experience
- Additional commission opportunities on approved roof replacement projects generated through service calls
