We are seeking a dependable and self-motivated Feed Mill Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance and operation of feed mill equipment. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills and a commitment to improving equipment reliability and plant operations.
This position is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance, repairing and installing equipment, identifying potential mechanical and electrical issues, and maintaining accurate maintenance records. The technician may be required to work scheduled weekends and respond to emergency equipment failures that could impact plant operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on feed mill equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and automated equipment issues.
- Detect potential equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance situations.
- Inspect equipment to ensure proper and efficient operation.
- Perform lubrication, belt adjustments, and other routine maintenance tasks.
- Install, repair, and replace equipment and components as needed.
- Complete maintenance work orders and document repairs, corrective actions, and replacement parts.
- Maintain preventive maintenance schedules and ensure work is completed on time.
- Complete required paperwork and reports using the facility maintenance management system.
- Assist with equipment upgrades, system improvements, and plant projects.
- Follow all company policies and applicable local, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Be available for scheduled weekend projects and occasional emergency call-ins.
Additional Responsibilities
- Safely operate equipment such as forklifts, welders, cutting torches, skid loaders, and scissor lifts.
- Perform electrical testing and basic electrical repairs.
- Perform minor fabrication and welding as needed.
- Work safely at heights and in confined spaces.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of maintenance, mechanical, electrical, industrial, or related experience, or completion of a relevant trade school program.
- PLC troubleshooting experience is a plus.
- Strong electrical maintenance and troubleshooting skills are preferred.
- Experience in industrial, manufacturing, feed mill, agricultural, or similar environments is preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights up to 200 feet.
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
