Controls Engineer – PLC, Robotics & Industrial Automation
Length: 3–6 months
Location: Nashville, TN
Description:
Seeking a hands-on Controls Engineer with strong industrial automation, controls troubleshooting, and robotics experience. The ideal candidate will have a background working with Mitsubishi, ABB, Siemens, and KUKA control systems. Previous glass manufacturing or glass industry experience is preferred.
A laptop will be provided by the client. This position may require off-shift work, so candidates must have schedule flexibility. The assignment will most likely require working 5–6 days per week. The Controls Engineer must be highly self-sufficient, hands-on, and capable of independently diagnosing and resolving electrical controls, PLC, automation, and robotic system issues.
Responsibilities:
- Perform hands-on controls engineering, troubleshooting, and technical support in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Diagnose and resolve issues involving PLC controls, industrial automation systems, and robotic systems.
- Troubleshoot equipment and controls utilizing Mitsubishi, ABB, Siemens, and KUKA technologies.
- Support equipment operation, controls performance, and production uptime through effective controls troubleshooting.
- Work independently and provide practical, hands-on solutions to controls and automation issues.
- Support production needs during off-shift hours as required.
- Maintain flexibility to work approximately 5–6 days per week based on project requirements.
Qualifications:
- Professional experience as a Controls Engineer, Automation Engineer, or similar industrial controls role.
- Hands-on experience with Mitsubishi, ABB, Siemens, and/or KUKA systems.
- Strong knowledge of PLC troubleshooting, industrial controls, automation, and robotics.
- Proven ability to diagnose technical issues independently and work in a self-sufficient manner.
- Strong hands-on troubleshooting skills in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Ability and willingness to work flexible schedules, including potential off-shift work.
- Glass manufacturing experience is preferred.
Expenses (If needed):
Travel expenses are paid, including hotel accommodations, rental car, and airfare.
Per Diem:
$70/day for food and incidentals.
