Our high-output manufacturing plant depends on rock-solid electrical systems. As our Manufacturing Electrical Systems Troubleshooter, you’ll safeguard uptime across heat treatment operations, hydrotesters, and threading lines. From power distribution to control logic, your expertise ensures safe operations and rapid recovery when issues arise.
Impact You’ll Make- Install & commission: Build out and validate industrial wiring, apparatus, and fixtures using appropriate tools and test equipment.
- Analyze & resolve: Apply ohmmeters, voltmeters, and megohmmeters to isolate faults, verify diagnoses, and implement durable repairs.
- Integrate systems: Wire and configure circuit breakers, transformers, VFDs, and related components with meticulous attention to standards.
- Maintain machinery: Proactively service production assets and integrated controls while meeting all applicable codes and regulations.
- Cross-functional support: Team with mechanics and other trades for mechanical troubleshooting, rigging assistance, and plant-wide support.
- Safety-first execution: Follow LOTO rigorously and wear required PPE at all times.
- Comfort working at height from ladders, scaffolds, and rooftops as needed.
- Operate in heavy industry environments with hot/cold extremes, dust, and dirt.
- Operate forklifts and aerial lifts once certified or if already qualified.
- Power: 3-phase, 480V, AC/DC systems, transformers, and plant power supplies.
- Automation: PLCs, ladder logic, digital logic, and I/O.
- Drives: VFD setup, programming, and troubleshooting; AC control circuits.
- Documentation: Read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints.
- Approach: Self-starter who takes direction well and adapts to shifting priorities.
- Education: High school diploma or GED.
- Preferred background: Electrician’s license, a 2-year electrical technology degree, or completion of a related apprenticeship.
- Scheduling: Comfortable with rotating 12-hour day/night shifts, weekend work, overtime, and urgent call-outs.
- Background Check: Candidates must pass a pre-employment background check, drug screening, and physical work assessment.
- Electrical schematic reading
- Industrial electrical troubleshooting and repair
- Diagnostics for complex electrical systems and heavy equipment
- National Electrical Code (NEC) familiarity
- Hands-on experience with industrial electrical systems
- Motor Control Centers (MCCs) (Allen Bradley, ABB, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Eaton)
- Industrial controls (Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, ABB, Omron, Siemens, Schneider Electric)
- Variable Frequency Drives (VFD)
- Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) (Fanuc, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Omron, Siemens)
- Conveyor systems
- Servo motors
- CNC maintenance
