Step into a senior, hands-on role where you’ll solve tough problems, elevate reliability, and shape maintenance standards across advanced manufacturing environments.

What you’ll do
  • Execute expert break-fix and preventive maintenance: observe equipment in operation to isolate root causes; disassemble to access faulty parts; inspect components; adjust controls and mechanisms; repair/replace parts; verify results with electrical/mechanical testing; recondition and repair machine tools.
  • Source parts and supplies; evaluate and propose alternatives that enhance cost-effectiveness and reliability.
  • Assemble retrofit/upgrade/alternate-function packages and drive their implementation.
  • Independently perform maintenance to industry benchmarks; write maintenance standards and instructions for modified or new manufacturing assets.
  • Direct customer counterparts on maintenance optimization, reliability tactics, and PM processes.
  • Operate lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other metalworking equipment; perform welding as needed to fabricate or repair parts.
  • Alter, troubleshoot, and analyze complex control systems to resolve software, hardware, and configuration issues.
  • Use advanced maintenance technologies to capture equipment performance data; analyze trends and recommend improvements.
  • Document all work in service reports and management systems; clearly explain findings and performance data.
  • Create technical manuals and develop operating/maintenance procedures related to upgrades and automation integrations.
  • Coach lower-level technicians, provide project leadership, deliver on-the-job training, and lead technical development programs for customers and peers.
  • Follow all safety policies, regulations, technical instructions, and guidelines; maintain situational awareness and call out unsafe behaviors and conditions.
  • Comply with customer contractor codes of conduct, housekeeping rules, and safety processes.
Must-haves
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Associate degree (technical) plus 12+ years of related industry experience, or 15+ years of industry experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of electrical, mechanical, fluid power, and control systems; ability to diagnose, evaluate alternatives, and make repairs.
  • Ability to use standard and specialized tools and relevant programming software.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively (local, national, international).
Nice-to-haves
  • Condition-based maintenance techniques, precision alignments, process equipment maintenance, and automation integration.
  • Deep experience with PLCs, field device troubleshooting, electrical drives and motor systems, and motion control technologies.

Work environment and physical demands
  • Regular activities include standing, walking, handling small parts, reaching, climbing ladders or lifts, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling in tight spaces, and communicating clearly.
  • Occasional sitting.
  • Occasional lifting or moving of items over 50 lbs.
  • Frequent need for close and color vision.
  • Occasional exposure to outdoor weather and electrical shock risk.
  • Typical setting is a loud factory environment with potential exposure to hazardous materials and greasy/slippery floors.
