Precision CNC Milling Programmer — Toolroom & Die Support
Location: Saint Paul, MN | Department: Operations | Type: Full-time | Pay: $35–45/hr

Role snapshot
  • Own programming for 3–4 axis vertical machining centers in a metal stamping environment
  • Build efficient toolpaths in Mastercam or GibbsCAM for tooling components and precision parts
  • Translate blueprints, CAD models, and GD&T into clear machining strategies
  • Author complete setup/program sheets: setups, tooling, pickup points, toolpaths, grind stock
  • Program and sustain InspecVision optical inspection routines for automated verification
  • Troubleshoot issues to protect uptime and meet production schedules
  • Continuously improve processes to reduce cycle times and elevate quality
  • Manage cutting tool purchasing, inventory, and life tracking based on BOMs and demand
  • Collaborate daily with engineering, operators, quality, and production leaders
  • Maintain version-controlled documentation aligned with ECNs and customer requirements
  • Follow safety procedures and uphold quality standards and company policies
Minimum qualifications
  • 5+ years CNC milling programming experience within a metal stamping manufacturing setting
  • Advanced proficiency with Mastercam, GibbsCAM, or similar CAM tools
  • Expertise in G-code, machining principles, tool selection, feeds/speeds
  • Strong blueprint/CAD reading and GD&T literacy
  • Track record of diagnosing machining/programming challenges while maintaining throughput
  • Attention to detail, quality mindset, and clear communication
  • Organized approach to inventory and deadlines
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
Preferred background
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required); technical degree or related manufacturing education preferred
  • Hands-on experience with optical inspection systems programming/support
  • Tooling procurement, inventory management, and cutting tool optimization knowledge
  • Support experience for toolroom and die manufacturing operations
Physical demands
  • Frequent standing, walking, and movement on the shop floor
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs regularly and 50 lbs occasionally
  • Stamina for repetitive tasks with sustained focus across the shift
  • Good vision, depth perception, and manual dexterity for verification and inspections

  • CAM: Mastercam, GibbsCAM
  • Machines: CNC Mill (3–4 axis VMC) — Fanuc, Bridgeport
  • Metrology: InspecVision optical inspection
  • Proficiencies: GD&T, CNC Programming
