Job Description

The phlebotomist position will include drawing blood and collecting other specimens from residents/patients for medical testing for diagnosis and treatment purposes. The position involves skills in resident/patient care, skills in drawing specimens, accuracy, and sanitation. The role involves resident/patient interaction, labeling and record-keeping and preparing and maintaining equipment.

This position also includes administrative duties in the staff development department. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, strong understanding of Microsoft Office products, great customer service, and to have the ability to provide compassionate patient care.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must currently be licensed as a Registered Nurse or License Practical Nurse by the State Board of Nurse Examiners in the State where the Facility operates

OR

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required); with completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program (required).
  • Certification (state specific licenses, CPT, RPT, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Must have basic knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory procedures. Nursing, medical practices and procedures.
  • Must be knowledgeable of State and Federal Regulations for Long Term Care.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and handle residents/patients of all ages.
  • Employment is contingent on completion of all pre-employment checks inclusive of a criminal background check and Medicaid Exclusion Screening, both indicating negative results.
