(AISC) We have been in business since 1976 (formerly M&J Materials, Inc.), providing quality service and materials to some of the largest general contractors nationwide.Position SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and motivated Steel Fitter to join our team at M&J Steel, LLC. This role is ideal for individuals looking to excel in the steel fabrication and fitting industry. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesInterpret drawings and specification; cut, shape and assemble steel components.Install structural steel on-site and conduct quality checks.Adhere to safety standards and practices, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and report any issues to supervisors.Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely project completion.Other duties as required.QualificationsRequiredHigh school diploma or equivalent.Three plus years in fabrication or a related field.Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.Familiarity with welding techniques and equipment.Understanding of tools and equipment used in metalworking and fabrication.Technical SkillsFamiliarity with hand tools and basic power tools used in steel fabrication.Understanding of welding processes and techniques (MIG).Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations in a fabrication environment.What We're Looking ForStrong work ethic and willingness to learn.Ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a team.Good communication skills and a positive attitude.Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb throughout the workday.Work EnvironmentAbility to work around active fabrication areas.M&J is a drug-free workplace and tests employees upon hire and randomly thereafter.Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive pay based on experience.Excellent benefit package.What We're Looking For:We value team members who are reliable, solutions-oriented, and maintain a professional, positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
