EHC is looking for a Mechanical Assembler for a Client in the Houston Area
Status: Full-Time
Schedule: Day Shift (6:00 AM - 4:00 PM)
Overtime: May be required based on workload demands
Education Requirement
- High School Diploma or GED required
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of mechanical assembly experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Forklift experience preferred but not required
- Immediate availability to start if selected

Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Mechanical Assembler to assemble and test enclosed drive gearboxes. This manufacturing position involves gearbox assembly and subassembly work, equipment monitoring, measurements, troubleshooting, and correction of assembly issues. Experience with material traceability, batch production, and mechanical systems is highly desirable.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform gearbox assembly and testing operations
- Read and interpret assembly blueprints and use measuring tools such as calipers
- Record dimensions and production-related information in manufacturing logs
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including tools and equipment
- Follow all workplace safety policies, procedures, and regulations
- Collaborate with Purchasing, Quality, Engineering, and other departments to resolve assembly and testing issues efficiently
- Practice safe work habits at all times
- Complete additional work-related duties as assigned
Facility-Specific Responsibilities
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in assembly and testing operations
- Assist with identifying process improvements and participating in team-based problem-solving activities
- Ensure compliance with site-specific safety requirements and product quality standards
Education and Experience Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in mechanical assembly, industrial machinery assembly, or a related manufacturing role
- Material handling experience required
Job Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret assembly blueprints written in English
- Willingness to work overtime and occasional weekends as needed
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with limited standardization
- Knowledge of shop safety practices
- Understanding of quality assurance principles, including training-based quality procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn new tasks and cross-train in multiple functions
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Comfortable working in a production setting with varying temperatures
- Physically able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements for up to 12 hours per day
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
