Title: Sterile Processing Production Coordinator
Location: Elmhurst, IL
Duration: 13 Weeks (High Possibility of Extension)
Schedule: 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours/Week
We are seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Production Coordinator to support sterile processing operations, with a strong emphasis on loaner and consignment tray management. The ideal candidate will have extensive SPD experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate workflows in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate daily sterile processing production activities.
- Manage and track loaner and consignment instrument trays throughout the sterile processing workflow.
- Ensure instruments and trays are received, processed, assembled, sterilized, and distributed according to established procedures.
- Verify tray contents and identify missing, damaged, or incomplete instruments.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external partners regarding loaner and consignment equipment.
- Ensure sterile processing activities comply with applicable standards, policies, and manufacturer instructions.
- Monitor workflow to ensure trays and instruments are processed accurately and within required timelines.
- Maintain accurate documentation and tracking records.
- Support quality assurance and infection-control requirements.
- Identify workflow issues and escalate concerns appropriately.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Assist with other sterile processing activities as needed.
- 3–5 years of hands-on Sterile Processing Department (SPD) experience.
- Strong experience with loaner and consignment tray management.
- Experience with instrument processing, assembly, sterilization, and inventory management.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- CRCST or CSPDT certification.
- BLS – American Heart Association (AHA).
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and coordination skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures, manufacturer IFUs, and infection-control standards.
- Reliable and professional work ethic.
