Position Title: Yardi ERP Implementation Consultant – Construction & Job Cost Accounting

Location: San Diego, CA – Hybrid (1 day in office)

Assignment Type: Consulting / Project-Based

Compensation: $65/hr.- $75/hr.

Work Schedule: M-F 9-5

Job Description:

Our client is seeking an experienced Yardi ERP Implementation Consultant with a strong background in construction accounting, job costing, and real estate development to support a major accounting system implementation. This is a hands-on consulting opportunity focused on helping the accounting team successfully transition to a new ERP system and maintain accurate financial information throughout the implementation and go-live process.

The ideal candidate will have extensive Yardi experience combined with strong construction and project accounting knowledge. This individual will work closely with accounting, construction, development, and implementation teams to support system conversion, reconciliation, testing, troubleshooting, and process development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on accounting support throughout the ERP implementation and go-live process.
  • Assist with transitioning accounting and project information from a legacy system into Yardi.
  • Perform dual accounting and reconciliations during the system transition.
  • Support approximately 30 active construction and development projects.
  • Review project costs, invoices, contracts, commitments, budgets, change orders, and related activity.
  • Ensure project-level financial information is accurately recorded and maintained in Yardi.
  • Identify discrepancies, data issues, mapping challenges, and implementation problems and develop practical solutions.
  • Support system testing, validation, troubleshooting, and reconciliation activities.
  • Partner with accounting, construction, and development teams to ensure costs are properly coded and allocated.
  • Evaluate existing accounting and job-costing processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and document standardized accounting workflows and SOPs within the new system.
  • Provide guidance and serve as a subject-matter resource for Yardi and construction/job-cost accounting.
  • Communicate implementation issues, risks, and recommended solutions to key stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive hands-on Yardi experience, preferably with construction, development, or job-cost functionality.
  • Strong construction accounting and job-costing experience.
  • Previous experience supporting an ERP implementation, conversion, or major accounting system transition.
  • Experience working in a dual-accounting environment during an ERP implementation.
  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and project-level financial reporting.
  • Experience supporting multiple construction or development projects simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and reconciliation skills.
  • Ability to independently identify issues, research solutions, and take initiative.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to create clear, practical SOPs and process documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Yardi Voyager, Yardi Elevate, or Yardi job-cost functionality.
  • Experience in real estate development, construction, or property management.
  • Experience with MIP, Sage, MRI, or another legacy accounting system.
  • Experience migrating accounting data into Yardi.
  • Familiarity with construction contracts, commitments, draws, budgets, change orders, and project reporting.
