1st SHIFT - CNC MACHINIST / TOOL AND DIE - OMAHAHiring Bonus!Pay Range: $30-$35 (DOE)Hours: Monday - Thursday, 6:00am - 4:30pm (4 days / 10 hrs)We are a well-established, Omaha-based manufacturer with over 70 years of providing quality products to our clients. Phillips Manufacturing is the one-stop shop for drywall finishing accessories, lath, stucco accessories, metal channels, interior framing, and fire-rated assemblies with facilities around the country.A Machinist / Tool and Die Tech duties are to plan and layout work, set up and operate any and all types of machine tools used in machining work. Responsible for the manufacture of components and assemblies to tolerances as directed by drawings, sketches or other forms of instruction. Make necessary mechanical repairs on any equipment in the plant.We take pride in a clean safe work environment and great company culture. Our air-conditioned shop is set up well to support our plant and we often perform work for other Phillips Manufacturing and USG facilities. Our shop is set up with Haas machining centers, Haas lathes, Bridgeport EZtracks, Okamoto surface grinders, Cincinnati cylindrical grinder, Mitsubishi EDM and other standard shop equipment. We use MasterCAM, Inventor and AutoCAD software daily. Essential Functions:Performs precision machine work in order to create, assemble, disassemble, modify or repair machines, apparatus, mechanical devises and sub-assemblies. Makes, fits and installs partsSuccessfully read and interprets drawings, sketches and diagramsSet up, adjust, or operate basic or specialized machine tools used to perform precision machining operationsUses precision measurement and layout tools, including micrometers, calipers, indicators, rulers, square and compass, applying shop mathematics and formulas to correctly formulate the projectSuccessfully operates all manual machine shop tools including lathes, milling machines, drill press, saws, grinders, and hones applying knowledge of machining properties of various materialsSuccessful understanding of programming/operation of CNC lathes, mills, MasterCAM and AutoCADSuccessfully operate and program numerically controlled machines lathes, mills, wire EDM and other related equipment to fabricate partsBuilds and/or modifies equipment in accordance to established specifications to meet specific project requirementsRepairs and/or modifies existing and new products in accordance with established specifications and procedures.Experience:High School diploma, technical certificate, or equivalent coursework or training in a directly related area.3+ year experience in an industrial setting directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified and/or, Associates of Applied Science in Precision Machining or Machine Tool Technology strongly preferred.Full-Time employee perks include:Referral BonusPerfect Attendance BonusAnniversary AwardsTrainer Pay9 Paid Holidays & PTOTuition AssistanceSafety Boot ReimbursementSafety Rx Glasses ReimbursementEmployee Assistance ProgramSuccessful candidates must pass a pre-employment drug testing, background, and physical capacity screenings.Equal Opportunity EmployerSuccessful candidates must pass a pre-employment drug testing, background, and physical capacity screenings.
