About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Toolmaker specializing in medical-grade plastic injection molds. This role is responsible for building, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing complex injection molds with a strong emphasis on hot runner systems, including Husky, Manner, and Mold‑Masters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build, assemble, and fit new precision injection molds from engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on high‑cavitation medical molds.
  • Diagnose and repair mold issues including wear, flash, and venting.
  • Service and troubleshoot Husky, Manner, and Mold‑Masters hot runner systems.
  • Identify and resolve heater, thermocouple, valve-pin, and manifold issues.
  • Utilize grinders, mills, lathes, and EDM equipment.
  • Manufacture replacement components to tight tolerances.
  • Document all repairs and component replacements.

Who are you?

You are an experienced toolmaker with a background in high-volume medical molding and a strong interest in scientific molding principles. You have hands-on EDM machining experience and are comfortable working to tight tolerances in a regulated environment. You understand and follow ISO 13485 requirements, with a strong focus on quality, documentation, and process control.

What you bring to our client/What we expect from you:

  • 7+ years of experience with plastic injection molds.
  • Hands-on experience with Husky, Manner, and Mold‑Masters hot runner systems.
  • Strong understanding of medical‑grade mold construction.
  • Ability to read detailed engineering blueprints and GD&T.
  • Advanced machining and bench‑fitting skills.

Nice to have knowledge of:

  • Experience with high‑volume medical molding.
  • Familiarity with scientific molding principles.
  • EDM machining experience.
  • Knowledge of ISO 13485.
