Concrete Finisher

COFFEY CONCRETE is seeking a Concrete Finisher to join our onsite team in Warrenton, VA, helping deliver high-quality concrete surfaces and durable results.

Position Summary

The Concrete Finisher is responsible for preparing, finishing, and smoothing concrete to meet job specifications and quality standards. This role supports the construction team by ensuring surfaces are properly leveled, finished, and cured, while maintaining clean work areas and safe jobsite practices.

You will work closely with other crew members to execute projects efficiently—from site preparation through final finishing—while prioritizing craftsmanship, attention to detail, and adherence to safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Finish concrete surfaces by screeding, floating, edging, and applying final textures or finishes as required by the project plan.

• Assist with concrete placement support, including leveling work and monitoring conditions to achieve proper curing and finish quality.

• Prepare job sites and maintain cleanliness by clearing debris, organizing materials, and keeping tools and equipment in good working order.

• Follow safety procedures and use protective equipment to support a safe, compliant jobsite environment.

• Identify and address minor finishing issues in real time, escalating concerns when additional support is needed to meet specifications.

Required Qualifications

• Ability to perform physical work involved in concrete finishing, including standing, bending, kneeling, lifting, and working outdoors for extended periods.

• Demonstrated experience or training in concrete finishing or related construction work.

• Understanding of basic concrete finishing techniques and surface preparation practices.

• Ability to read and follow job instructions, including maintaining quality standards throughout the finishing process.

• Commitment to workplace safety and willingness to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience finishing slabs, flatwork, sidewalks, curb and gutter, or other concrete structures.

• Familiarity with curing methods and basic quality checks used during concrete finishing.

• Experience working on active job sites with a strong focus on timelines, cleanliness, and consistent results.

• Ability to work independently on finishing tasks while coordinating with the rest of the crew.
