Join a team that values craftsmanship, autonomy, and continuous improvement. On our 2nd shift, you’ll be the precision driver behind FANUC-controlled VMCs, ensuring every first article paves the way for repeatable, high-quality production.
Why This Role Matters- Own end-to-end setups on FANUC ROBODRILL CNC machining centers.
- Translate prints and GD&T into accurate, stable processes.
- Safeguard quality and throughput with disciplined inspection and tool management.
- Set up and operate FANUC ROBODRILL CNC mills.
- Read blueprints/work instructions; apply GD&T correctly.
- Install tooling; set and verify work/tool offsets.
- Prepare vises, fixtures, and workholding for rigidity and repeatability.
- Validate first articles and fine-tune offsets as required.
- Monitor tool wear and perform timely replacements.
- Inspect parts with calipers, micrometers, indicators, and height gauges.
- Meet quality and production standards; follow all safety procedures.
- 3+ years of CNC mill setup experience.
- Experience with FANUC ROBODRILL or similar FANUC-controlled VMCs.
- Strong blueprint literacy and GD&T comprehension.
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
- Comfort holding tight tolerances in production environments.

Technical Questionnaire- Setup Planning: What do you confirm from the blueprint, setup sheet, CNC program, tooling list, material, and workholding before starting?
- Offsets: Walk through your process for establishing and verifying work and tool offsets, including indicating the vise or fixture.
- First Article Diagnosis: If a first article fails, how do you determine whether the root cause is setup, tooling, program, workholding, machine, or measurement?
- Tooling Health: What signs indicate a tool is dull/chipped/deflecting/rubbing or unsuitable, and how do you correct?
- FANUC/ROBODRILL Background: Share years of setup experience, materials cut, typical tolerances, and your experience with offsets and first article inspections.
