Job Description

Job Description
Okuma CNC Programmer & Setup Machinist (GibbsCam/Mastercam)

Compensation: Up to $40/hr DOE

Hire Type: Direct hire through our manufacturing client (start immediately). Integrity Trade Services is partnering with a precision manufacturer to bring an experienced professional on board. Benefits are provided by the client upon hire.

A day in your role

You arrive on the day shift in Sturtevant, WI, coffee in hand, and open the latest engineering drawing. You map out your machining strategy, choose the right tools, and build a clean, efficient program. On the floor, you set up an Okuma mill, prove out your code, and run a first article. A quick in-process check confirms tolerances, and you refine feeds and speeds to optimize cycle time without sacrificing quality. By afternoon, you’re switching to an Okuma lathe, designing simple fixturing, and collaborating with quality to verify results on a CMM (e.g., Mitutoyo MiSTAR 555 or equivalent). When anomalies appear, you troubleshoot calmly—adjusting the program, tooling, or setup—then finish with a final inspection and complete documentation.

What you will do
  • Independently program, set up, prove out, and operate CNC mills, CNC lathes, and machining centers from drawings through finished part inspection
  • Select tooling and design/prepare fixturing to support stable, repeatable machining
  • Perform first-piece and in-process inspections to ensure conformance
  • Troubleshoot machining, tooling, programming, and quality issues with minimal supervision
  • Interpret blueprints, GD&T, engineering drawings, and customer specifications
  • Determine optimal speeds, feeds, and strategies to balance cycle time and part quality
Where and when
  • Location: Sturtevant, WI
  • Schedule: Day shift; choose 8 hours (5 days/week) or 10 hours (4 days/week)
What you bring
  • 5+ years of CNC machining experience
  • 3+ years of CNC programming experience
  • Proficiency programming, setting up, and operating Okuma mills and lathes
  • GibbsCam 2026 preferred; Mastercam or similar CAD/CAM acceptable
  • Skilled with precision metrology and CMMs (e.g., Mitutoyo MiSTAR 555 or equivalent)
  • Strong blueprint/GD&T literacy and customer spec interpretation
  • Hands-on ability to select tooling, design fixtures, and set speeds/feeds
  • Competence with first article and in-process inspections
  • Proven troubleshooting of programs, tooling, setups, tolerances, and quality
  • Self-directed, detail-focused, able to own jobs from setup through final inspection

  • Dental
  • Vision

  • 401k
