Siemens Conversational CNC Lathe Programmer-Machinist (Fryer Equipment)

Santa Fe Machine Inc
Fontana, CA, US Full Time
22USD - 32USD per hour

Job Description

Job Description
Day in the Life

You begin at a Fryer CNC lathe equipped with a Siemens control, reviewing prints and detailed instructions for a unique build. You set tools, dial in workholding, and create an on-machine conversational program. As machining progresses, you measure, tweak offsets, restart the program mid-stream when needed, and finish with careful deburring and self-inspection. No two days look the same—most assignments are one-of-a-kind, and a production "run" rarely exceeds five pieces.

What You'll Work On
  • Precision injection molding and extrusion screws for plastic manufacturing equipment
  • Materials: alloy steel, tool steel, and high-temperature alloys such as Inconel
  • Size range: from approximately 1" OD x 20" length up to 10" OD x 25' length
Core Responsibilities
  • Set up the Fryer CNC lathe and perform on-machine conversational programming (Siemens)
  • Execute machining operations, adjust tooling/offsets, and restart programs mid-cycle when required
  • Deburr and perform in-process and final inspections of your own work
  • Interpret and follow prints and detailed job instructions
  • Assist on conventional equipment as needed: knee mills, horizontal boring mills, and manual lathes
What Makes This Role Different

This is not a push-button environment. Programs are rarely run start-to-finish without interaction. You’ll continuously engage with the machine and the part—making adjustments that directly influence quality and outcomes.

What You Bring
  • CNC programming proficiency
  • Strong CNC machine setup and changeover skills
  • Solid manual machining capabilities
Equipment & Tech You'll Use
  • Fryer CNC Lathe with Siemens control (2–4 axis)
  • CAM software
  • Conventional knee mills, horizontal boring mills, and manual lathes
