Job Summary:Comply with all safety practices and procedures. Check equipment for safety prior to operating. Skilled in the use of traditional tool room hand tools such as files, scrapers and grinders to final fit or repair tooling to standards in an efficient manner. Analyze measured prints and construct tooling, punches, pins, die sections, etc. Operate all standard tool room equipment such as lathes, mills, grinders, N.C. machines, drills, shaper, EDM, TIG welding, etc. Work closely with manufacturing personnel to build, modify or "debug" production dies/molds to operate safely and produce quality parts consistently. Familiar with all precision measuring equipment found in a tool or inspection area. Acquainted with the different stamping materials, their properties, tensile strength, ductility, spring back formulation for bending, tonnage and spring travel. Understanding of electronic equipment for die protection as well as procedures for die set-up and operation. Operate power lift trucks and cranes. Comply with the LMC Export Compliance Manual. Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Must be able to use Calipers/Micrometers. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to safely and accurately operate all measuring and production equipment.Thorough understanding of metallic properties.Ability to work independently, and with engineers and machinists. Physical Requirements: Must be able to remain on feet continuously for entire shiftMust be able to lift up to 50 pounds
