Nurse Aide

A substance abuse treatment facility located in Fresh Meadows, Queens New York is seeking full-time, part-time Nurse Assistants. Positions are available for evening and overnight shifts. We are a 24 hour-7 day week operation. Currently, we have 8 hour and 12-hour shifts available. You will work alongside fellow caregivers to provide high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Provide patient care under the direction of nursing staff
• Escort patients to and from appointments, X-ray, Emergency Room, etc.
• Assist in the transfer and discharge procedures
• Responsible for vital signs
• Maintain a clean and healthy environment
• May be required to draw and process blood specimen
• Conduct rounds
• Assistant in meal periods
• Conduct searches based on OASAS approved guidelines

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in nursing, patient care, or other related fields
• Satisfactorily completed nursing assistant or medical assistant program.
• Ability to build rapport with patients
• Compassionate and caring demeanor
• Mental Health or Substance Abuse Facility experience preferred.
• Must be computer literate
• Must have CPR certification (or obtain one within 30 days from the date of hire)
