Position Summary
United Skates is seeking a reliable, hands-on Maintenance Technician to support two Indianapolis facilities: United Skates of Indianapolis, formerly Fun Factory, and Skateland. This is a dual-location role, and the Maintenance Technician will work at both facilities based on operational needs.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, takes pride in their work, and can handle a variety of maintenance and upkeep tasks both inside and outside the buildings.
The Maintenance Technician will perform planned and unplanned maintenance throughout both facilities while helping maintain company cleanliness, operational, and safety standards at all times.

Key Responsibilities
Facility Maintenance
- Perform routine building inspections and address minor repairs
- Handle basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general maintenance tasks
- Replace lighting, perform touch-up painting, and maintain fixtures
- Ensure restrooms are clean, stocked, and in good working condition
- Maintain walls, carpets, roof areas, glass, and other building components according to company standards
- Clean and maintain skating floors to ensure safe skating surfaces
- Perform minor repairs to skating surfaces
- Inspect rink barriers, railings, and safety padding
- Assist with skate-rental upkeep, including cleaning and minor repairs
- Sweep, mop, and maintain cleanliness throughout both facilities
- Sanitize high-touch surfaces and common areas
- Maintain party rooms, seating areas, and guest spaces
- Ensure dumpster and waste areas are clean and organized
- Monitor HVAC systems and change filters and belts as needed
- Assist with lighting, sound systems, and general equipment upkeep
- Support the maintenance of facility light shows and entertainment systems
- Perform basic cleaning and minor troubleshooting of arcade games
- Report equipment issues that require additional repair or professional service
- Keep parking lots and walkways clean and free of debris
- Perform basic landscaping duties, including mowing, trimming, and weed control
- Maintain exterior lighting and the overall appearance of both buildings
- Maintain a safe environment for guests and staff
- Ensure exits, fire extinguishers, and other safety equipment are accessible and functioning properly
- Identify and report potential hazards promptly
- Travel between and provide maintenance support at both Indianapolis locations
- Assist with event setup and breakdown
- Move equipment and support special projects as needed
- Perform additional duties based on facility and operational needs
- Previous maintenance, janitorial, or facility experience is preferred
- Basic knowledge of construction, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems is preferred
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively across two locations
- Comfortable performing physical tasks, including lifting, bending, standing, and climbing ladders
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must have reliable transportation and the ability to travel between both facilities as needed
