Machinist
We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our production team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating manual and CNC machine tools to produce precision parts according to customer specifications and blueprints. This role requires attention to detail, technical proficiency, and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate conventional and CNC machine tools including lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining operations and sequences
- Select appropriate tools, materials, and machining methods for each job
- Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other measuring instruments
- Monitor machining operations to ensure parts meet quality standards and tolerances
- Perform routine maintenance on machines and tooling
- Inspect finished parts for defects and ensure conformance to specifications
- Make adjustments to machine settings as needed to maintain accuracy
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Document production activities and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate with team members and management to improve processes and efficiency
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Machinist in a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings
- Hands-on experience with manual machining equipment (lathes, mills, etc.)
- Working knowledge of precision measuring instruments
- Understanding of machining processes, tooling, and materials
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Good mathematical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with CNC programming and operation
- Vocational or technical training in machining
- Experience in custom or job shop manufacturing
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
