Job Description
Own the Cut, From Setup to First‑Article
Join a precision manufacturing team building high‑tolerance components for the aerospace, defense, energy, and industrial sectors. As a seasoned CNC professional, you’ll take full ownership of complex work—from reading the print to first‑part approval and through sustained production—inside a modern shop that prizes craftsmanship and continuous improvement.
A Day in the Shop- Transform drawings into reality by setting up CNC mills, lathes, and multi‑axis machining centers and driving parts to first‑article acceptance.
- Choose the right tooling, workholding, and fixturing strategies for diverse materials and intricate geometries.
- Tune and edit programs at the machine to sharpen quality, reduce cycle times, and extend tool life.
- Run first article inspections and verify features using micrometers, bore/thread gauges, CMMs, and other precision instruments.
- Oversee production runs, dialing in offsets and making real‑time adjustments to hold demanding tolerances.
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and customer specs to ensure full conformance.
- Diagnose and resolve chatter, tool wear, dimensional drift, and surface finish issues.
- Advance continuous improvement projects to elevate quality, throughput, and process capability.
- Mentor less experienced teammates and help raise the bar for the entire machining group.
- 5+ years of CNC machining with hands‑on setup and at‑machine program editing responsibilities.
- Proficiency running CNC mills, lathes, and/or multi‑axis equipment.
- Fluency in reading prints and interpreting GD&T.
- Strong command of tooling choices, speeds/feeds, workholding, and machining strategies.
- Experience with precision measurement: micrometers, bore and thread gauges, and CMMs.
- Background machining aluminum, stainless, titanium, Inconel, and other specialty alloys.
- Self‑starter mindset with sharp troubleshooting instincts and a quality‑first approach.
- 5‑axis or mill‑turn experience.
- Familiarity with CAM (Mastercam, Fusion 360, Hypermill, or similar).
- Background in aerospace, defense, or other high‑precision manufacturing environments.
- Exposure to automated or lights‑out machining.
- Tackle challenging, high‑precision parts—not repetitive production.
- Operate in a modern, well‑equipped shop that consistently invests in technology.
- Expand your capabilities across advanced platforms and processes.
- Grow with a scaling operation that supports long‑term career advancement.
- Collaborate with expert machinists who have a real voice in process improvements and problem‑solving.
