The Mental Health Association is seeking Licensed Clinicians for our new program, New Jersey Statewide Student Support Services (NJ4S) Hub, operating in Morris and Sussex Counties.

The NJ4S Hub program will provide regional coverage through a “Hub” that will offer proven prevention strategies used to support every student in Morris and Sussex Counties and their families. The Hub will integrate its programming with existing state and local services, to improve coordination and reduce duplication of effort. The Hub will offer a tiered menu of evidence-based prevention and intervention strategies that can be deployed in high-need districts. The NJ4S Hub will provide universal supports to all Morris/Sussex students, and more intensive supports to students in schools with higher needs.

Qualified applicants for the position of Licensed Clinician will have, at minimum:

  • Master’s degree in a related field (e.g. counseling, social work, etc.)
  • Must hold one of the following: Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC), Licensed Social Worker (LSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
  • There is a preference for professionals with relevant independent licensure and an ability to provide clinical supervision to those who do not possess full licensure.
  • Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in completing assessments and providing brief individualized clinical interventions to youth and families is required. Previous training in motivational interviewing preferred.
  • Must be well organized, accurate, have good interpersonal skills and welcomes new ideas.
  • Ability to work flexible hours which include before, during and after school hours to meet the needs of the community.

Under the direction of the Program Director, the Licensed Clinician will be responsible for:

Provide clinical services both in person and through telehealth to students. Student assessments and provision of brief clinical interventions. Provide individual and/or group counseling and support to students along with supportive consultations to their families. Facilitate treatment referrals, as necessary, to treatment resources in the community. Establish collaborative relationships with key school personnel and faculty to ensure clear communications and project expectations. Assist students, families and faculty in understanding and navigating through the mental health and social services system. Liaison, advocate and collaborate with other treatment providers on behalf of youth and families. Complete professional, clinical documentation and charting as required of oversight organizations and funding sources. In collaboration with the school, agency, NJ4S Hub Advisory Committee, and Department of Children and Families, develop and implement program age appropriate evaluation tools to determine outcome measures and overall effectiveness of interventions. Complies with mandated coursework for professional development through Relias Learning, Department of Children and Families, and continuing education credits. Must meet all expected productivity levels, in regard to direct service provision to individuals served. Perform other duties as assigned by the NJ4S Hub Director.

Annual Base Salary: $80K
