We work with high-end residential clients, commercial projects, and some of New York's top architects, designers, and developers.We pride ourselves on precision, craftsmanship, and delivering a white-glove experience across every project.Website: https://zicana.com/Position OverviewWe are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Architectural Drafter / Estimator to join our team.This role is ideal for someone who wants to be involved in all phases of a project - from initial drawings and estimating through fabrication and completion. You will work closely with our sales, administration, and fabrication teams, contributing technical expertise and ensuring projects are accurately scoped and executed.Candidates should be comfortable managing multiple projects at once and working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign & DraftingDevelop detailed CAD drawings based on architectural and technical plansCreate technical drawings for client review and digital fabricationReview drawings for accuracy, completeness, and feasibilityAssist in refining designs to align with both aesthetic and fabrication requirementsEstimating & QuotingPerform detailed material take-offs and estimations from architectural drawingsGenerate accurate quotes based on project scope and specificationsAdjust estimates based on revisions, scope changes, or updated material pricingEnsure all estimates reflect accurate layouts and fabrication requirementsTechnical Support & CollaborationProvide technical support to the sales team during project developmentParticipate in client discussions when technical clarification is requiredWork closely with fabrication team to ensure designs are properly executedAssist project managers and sales team during and after site visitsProject CoordinationCommunicate with internal teams to ensure alignment on scope, timelines, and deliverablesIdentify and resolve design or scope issues proactivelyEnsure all technical details are clearly documented and communicatedSupport projects through to completionRequired SkillsProficiency in AutoCAD (required)Strong ability to read and interpret architectural drawingsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsGeneral computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, email, etc.)Preferred QualificationsExperience reviewing architectural drawingsExperience working on construction sites or in a fabrication environmentSketchUp or other 3D CAD experienceBackground in architecture, interior design, or related fieldBilingual (Spanish/English) is a plusWhat We're Looking ForStrong work ethic and willingness to learnAbility to manage multiple projects and deadlinesTeam-oriented mindset with the ability to work independentlyProblem-solving mindset with attention to detailProfessional communication and presentationAdditional RequirementsAbility to travel locally (Long Island / NYC) for job site visits when needed (reimbursed)Must be able to commute daily to Westbury, NYIn-person role only (no remote work)Compensation & BenefitsFull-time positionCompetitive compensation (based on experience)Health insurancePaid time offProfessional development opportunitiesBefore ApplyingPlease submit a resume and cover letterPortfolio is strongly preferredCandidates may be asked to complete an AutoCAD and/or material take-off testWork LocationWestbury, NY – In PersonScheduleMonday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
