Snelling is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Assembly Technician/Hydraulic Assembler to join a manufacturing team in the Trussville area. Experience must involve manual, detail-focused assembly rather than automated production line work. Responsible for the installation of various parts and/or components onto construction equipment. 1st shift opening, starting at 6:00 am-3:30 pm, with some OT
Starting Pay Rate: $24.00-29.00/hr

Key responsibilities of Heavy Equipment Assembly Technician/Hydraulic Assembler :
  • Installation of manufactured kits onto new equipment.
  • Ability to follow detailed work instructions to ensure quality of installation.
  • Ability to follow procedures for torquing bolts, hydraulic hoses and fittings.
Qualifications required for Heavy Equipment Assembly Technician/Hydraulic Assembler :
  • 3+ years of hands-on assembly experience (non–conveyor belt). Experience must involve manual, detail-focused assembly rather than automated production line work.
  • Must have a basic understanding of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems found in heavy equipment.
  • Must be able to work independently using basic hand tools and air tools.
  • Must have experience operating forklifts and overhead crane
Candidates must come equipped with a complete personal tool set that includes:
  • A full socket and ratchet set (1/4"–3/8", 105-pc) plus 3/8" extensions and a 1/2" breaker bar
  • SAE and metric combination wrenches and Allen wrenches
  • Screwdrivers, wire crimpers/strippers, vise-grip pliers, and retaining ring pliers (internal & external)
  • Hammers, including ball-peen and 2 lb. dead blow
  • Power tools such as a 3/8" battery-powered impact wrench, impact socket set, 1/2" reversible drill, and M18 lithium batteries/charger
  • Air ratchet (3/8" drive)
  • Additional essentials including creeper, magnetic retrieval tool, combination square, flashlight, utility cutters, hacksaw, utility knife, torpedo level, gasket scraper, and tool cabinet
