Manual Machinist

This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys precision machining, assembly, and solving mechanical problems.

In this role, you will set up and operate manual lathes, mills, and other machining tools to manufacture, repair, and assemble metal and non-metallic components used in the production of filtration products and equipment.

• Set up and operate manual lathes, mills, grinders, shapers, and other machining equipment
• Read and work from blueprints, specifications, sketches, sample parts, and damaged parts
• Determine dimensions, tolerances, machining sequences, and equipment required
• Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on materials and workpieces
• Select, align, and secure appropriate fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials
• Calculate and set machine controls, including speeds, feeds, coolant flow, cutting depth, and angles
• Monitor machine operation and make adjustments to maintain accuracy and quality
• Perform trial runs to verify machine settings and accuracy
• Inspect finished workpieces to ensure they meet specifications
• Fit and assemble parts into complete assemblies
• Verify dimensions and alignment of completed assemblies
• Install machined replacement parts and test equipment to ensure proper operation
• Develop basic specifications and sketches for parts to be fabricated
• Work with engineering, production, programming, and other team members to resolve machining and assembly issues
• Perform other duties as needed

We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work and has strong manual machining and mechanical skills. The ability to accurately read specifications, measure parts, operate machining equipment, and troubleshoot problems is important for success in this role.
