Must have a clean background and be eligible for DBIDS and TWIC
Must pass drug screen
Outside Machinist work at Pearl Harbor Naval Station, Coast Guard station, and private shipyards.
Qualifications:
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair marine mechanical systems and equipment.
- Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble pumps, valves, compressors, gearboxes, heat exchangers, and propulsion components.
- Perform precision alignment of shafts, bearings, engines, and associated machinery.
- Conduct equipment measurements using precision tools such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and laser alignment equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and manufacturer specifications.
- Perform machining, fitting, grinding, and fabrication tasks as required.
- Assist with dry-dock and shipboard maintenance projects.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
