Ready for the Next Step in Your Senior Living Leadership Career?

Charter Senior Living is seeking a motivated, hands-on Assistant Executive Director to partner with our Executive Director in leading the day-to-day operations and overall performance of our community.

This isn't an administrative assistant role. You'll be an active member of the community leadership team with exposure to operations, financial performance, team development, resident and family satisfaction, compliance, programming, and occupancy growth.

For the right leader, this is an opportunity to broaden your operational experience and continue developing toward future Executive Director leadership.

The Leadership Qualities We're Looking For

Dependable Leadership • Highly Organized • Strong Communicator

We're looking for someone who takes ownership, follows through, and can be counted on by their team.

You should be highly organized and comfortable balancing multiple priorities in a fast-moving senior living environment while communicating clearly and proactively with residents, families, associates, and leadership.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who sees an opportunity and asks, "How can I help solve this?"

What You'll Do

Working alongside the Executive Director, you'll help drive the overall success of the community by:

  • Supporting day-to-day community operations and department leadership

  • Assisting with financial performance, budgeting, expense management, and operational goals

  • Helping lead, coach, develop, and hold team members accountable

  • Supporting hiring, onboarding, retention, and overall associate engagement

  • Partnering with department leaders to maintain high standards of resident care and service

  • Supporting occupancy growth, tours, family engagement, and sales initiatives

  • Monitoring policies, procedures, operational standards, and regulatory compliance

  • Identifying opportunities for improvement and helping implement practical solutions

  • Supporting resident programming and overall resident experience

  • Building strong relationships with residents, families, associates, and community partners

  • Stepping into broader leadership responsibilities when the Executive Director is unavailable

What We're Looking For
  • Previous leadership or management experience in senior living, assisted living, healthcare, hospitality, or another service-driven environment

  • Assisted Living and/or Memory Care experience strongly preferred

  • Experience supervising employees and managing team performance

  • Understanding of business operations, budgeting, expense management, or financial performance

  • Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to lead with both accountability and empathy

  • Comfortable working across multiple departments and managing competing priorities

  • Sales, occupancy growth, or customer relationship experience is a plus

  • Desire to continue growing into broader senior living leadership

You May Be a Great Fit If You...
  • Are a current senior living department leader ready for your next step

  • Want to eventually become an Executive Director

  • Take initiative rather than waiting to be told what needs to happen

  • Are dependable and follow through on commitments

  • Can organize people, priorities, and projects effectively

  • Communicate confidently—even when the conversation is difficult

  • Enjoy developing people and building strong teams

  • Understand that resident satisfaction, employee engagement, occupancy, and financial performance are all connected

  • Thrive in an environment where no two days look exactly the same

Compensation & Benefits
  • $67,000–$72,000/year

  • Free medical insurance plan option

  • Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance and more

  • Paid Training

  • Paid Time Off & Holiday Pay

  • Pay-on-Demand with ZayZoon

  • Career growth and advancement opportunities

  • Reliable hours and stable schedule

  • A work environment where your voice, experience, and ideas are valued
