Position Summary

SuiteMate Staffing Solutions is seeking a skilled and dependable Industrial Mechanic to support operations at a water treatment facility. This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on a variety of industrial mechanical equipment to ensure safe and efficient plant operations.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, experience working with industrial equipment, and a commitment to workplace safety.

Essential Job DutiesMechanical Maintenance

• Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial mechanical equipment.
• Service and repair large industrial pumps, gearboxes, valves, chemical-feed systems, and related equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical failures and determine the most effective repair solutions.
• Replace worn, damaged, or defective mechanical components.
• Perform preventive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and improve system reliability.

Equipment Repair

• Safely use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment.
• Test repaired equipment to ensure proper operation.
• Assist with equipment installations, modifications, and upgrades as needed.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all plant safety procedures, OSHA regulations, and environmental guidelines.
• Work safely around water treatment systems, chemicals, rotating equipment, and confined industrial environments.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Documentation

• Complete maintenance logs, repair records, and preventive maintenance documentation accurately.
• Report equipment issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Perform additional maintenance and plant-support duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Previous experience in industrial mechanical maintenance or equipment repair preferred.
• Experience working with pumps, gearboxes, valves, motors, bearings, or chemical-feed systems is highly preferred.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and follow technical manuals and maintenance procedures.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and mechanical testing equipment.
• Dependable with excellent attendance and a strong commitment to workplace safety.
• Ability to work in an industrial plant environment around machinery and chemicals.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
• Stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb throughout the workday.
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to work around loud machinery, industrial equipment, and water treatment operations.
• Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Preferred Qualifications

• Industrial maintenance experience in a water treatment, wastewater, manufacturing, or utility environment.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs.
• Experience with rotating equipment and industrial pumps.
• Basic understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, or mechanical systems.
