Job Summary:To assist in the overall operation of the extrusion process as determined by the Press Team Leader.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment around the entire extrusion areaIdentify and report safety concerns to the Extrusion ManagerIdentify and report maintenance needs to Extrusion ManagerAssist with preventive maintenance on all extrusion equipmentTo assume the duties of any press team member for break and lunch periods as well as in the case of absencesTo assist in the duties of any press team member as needed when workload becomes to great to complete in a timely mannerInterpretation of production schedules, work orders and drawingsMaintain a good attendance recordOther duties as assignedQualifications: Strong mechanical aptitudeUnderstanding of extrusion production processesGood communication in a team environmentCritical thinking skills Must be goal oriented in order to achieve daily production targetsEducation and/or Experience: High School diploma preferred, 2 years of experience in an extrusion setting.Language/Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate and work with team members in a bilingual environment (with the use of an interpreter as needed). Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
