Prototype Manual Machinist

Sonatech has a challenging and rewarding work environment where employees have the opportunity to develop their careers by taking on new responsibilities and providing innovative solutions.Position Summary: Under minimal supervision, the Prototype Manual Machinist will set up and operate Lathe and Milling machines to fabricate metallic and non-metallic parts.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Perform set-up and prototype on manual mill and lathe tasks in a safe and responsible mannerRead and interpret blueprintsPlan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a jobUse measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirementsPerform daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machineryOperate CNC mills and lathes when neededUtilize and abide by ISO requirements and safety proceduresComply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructionsRequired Qualifications:Experience in using manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (mills, lathes, grinders, etc.)Ability to use precision tools (e.g., calipers) to take accurate measurementsUnderstand and have the ability to perform tool wear offsetsAbility to read blueprints, schematics and manualsHigh school diploma or equivalent; completion of vocational training or an apprenticeship will be an asset18+ Years of ageU.S. Citizenship or permanent residentBenefitsBenefits include medical, dental and vision, life insurance, paid vacation and sick time, 3% 401K contribution (no matching required), company eventsSalary RangeSalary range: $25 - $35/hourSonatech is an equal opportunity employer.
