This position is for a skilled nursing facility with both short-term and long-term patients. Harbor Point Skilled Nursing has an in-house therapy team with smaller daily case loads, all new equipment, and an emphasis on optimizing time with patients.

Occupational Therapist's Job Responsibilities:

  • Helps residents by providing rehabilitative and skilled therapy maintenance services to persons with mental, physical, psychosocial, or developmental impairments.

  • Maintains expected productivity/efficiency set by the Director of Rehab or Administrator.

  • Maintains accurate and timely patients' occupational therapy records by recording resident’s progress and daily notes under federal, state, and insurance guidelines.

  • Records accurate billing information of occupational therapy services rendered.

  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following facility guidelines and procedures.

  • Helps keep therapy equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs as needed.

  • Serves and protects occupational therapy practice by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.

  • Enhances occupational therapy practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

  • Current Texas licensure as an OT/OTR is required
