Quality Control / Laser Tracker Technician Trainee

Position Summary
We are seeking a mechanically minded, detail-oriented individual to join our Quality Control team and train as a Laser Tracker Technician. Working alongside an experienced technician, this position will learn precision measurement, machine alignment, inspection, and documentation while supporting day-to-day Quality Control activities.
Previous laser tracker experience is not required. We are looking for someone with strong mechanical aptitude who is interested in developing into a long-term precision measurement role.
Primary Responsibilities
- Train in the setup, operation, and care of laser tracker equipment.
- Assist with precision measurement and alignment of industrial machinery.
- Inspect machined, fabricated, and purchased components against engineering drawings.
- Use calipers, micrometers, indicators, height gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections.
- Document inspection results and identify nonconforming parts.
- Communicate quality concerns with manufacturing, engineering, and supervision.
- Support production and other departments as workload allows.
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to read or learn to read mechanical drawings and blueprints.
- Basic computer and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness and ability to learn advanced precision measurement technology.
- Experience in machining, mechanical assembly, fabrication, dimensional inspection, or Quality Control is preferred.
- Experience with laser trackers, CMMs, portable measurement arms, or similar equipment is a plus.
This is a training and development position with the goal of becoming a fully capable Laser Tracker Technician.
