Unit Clerk
We are seeking an organized and dependable Unit Clerk to support the daily operations of our skilled nursing facility. The ideal candidate will have prior long-term care experience, strong attention to detail, be able to multitask, and the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, medical providers, and transportation companies.
Key Responsibilities
Schedule residents’ medical appointments and follow-up visits
Coordinate transportation to and from appointments
Maintain and organize resident medical records
Obtain required medical documentation from hospitals, physician offices, and other providers
Scan and upload documents accurately into residents’ electronic medical records
Confirm appointments and communicate scheduling information to nursing staff, residents, and responsible parties
Track outstanding records, reports, and appointment documentation
Assist with general clerical and administrative responsibilities on the nursing unit
Maintain resident confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements
Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum of one year of experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility is required
Experience with electronic medical records is preferred
Strong organizational, communication, and follow-up skills
Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
Basic computer and data-entry proficiency
High school diploma or equivalent required
