Summary: The Fuel Station Clerk provides top quality fast and friendly customer service at a standalone fuel station offering sealed grab and go food items and tobacco products. This position is responsible for operating registers accurately handling cash and inventory maintaining clean and sanitary restrooms and fuel station areas and ensuring compliance with company policies safety standards and applicable laws. The Fuel Station Clerk plays a key role in delivering a positive customer experience while supporting daily fuel station operations. Responsibilities:Customer Service and Satisfaction Provide excellent customer service in a courteous friendly and attentive mannerGreet customers upon entry and thank customers as they leaveAssist customers with purchases and offer suggestions or recommendations when appropriateResolve routine customer concerns using established proceduresReport to work on time and maintain a professional appearance in accordance with dress and appearance standards Store Restrooms and Fuel Station Conditions Maintain clean sanitary and well stocked restrooms throughout each shiftPerform routine restroom checks and address cleanliness issues immediatelyMaintain overall cleanliness of the fuel station and surrounding propertySweep mop and clean floors driveways sidewalks and pump islandsClean windows counters displays refrigeration units gas pumps and restroomsPick up and properly dispose of trash litter and debris in the store parking lot and surrounding areasMonitor equipment including coffee machines refrigeration units gas pumps and phonesNotify the Store Manager of equipment failures or maintenance or supply needs Merchandising and Grab and Go Items Stock front rotate and cull merchandise on shelves counters coolers and displaysEnsure sealed grab and go items that are shelf stable are properly stocked dated and displayed and do not require temperature controlMonitor packaged food items to ensure product integrity freshness and compliance with company standardsPlace and maintain pricing promotional and advertising signage including pump toppers and in store displaysMake price changes according to the Company price book or promotional plannerMay monitor fuel pricing competition and report findings to the Store Manager Sales and Transaction Controls Complete all sales in compliance with Company standards and applicable lawsVerify customer eligibility for age restricted products including tobacco and refuse sales when requiredAccurately scan or enter all items at the time of purchaseProperly handle cash credit debit EBT and other approved payment methodsUse appropriate equipment for specialty transactions when applicable Financial and Inventory Controls Maintain accurate cash sales and inventory records during each shiftFollow vendor check in procedures and account for merchandise receivedReport any cash inventory or operational discrepancies to the Store ManagerFollow Company procedures for store use items product breakage or spoilage Safety Security and Compliance Follow all safety procedures related to fuel handling spills and emergency responseReport all incidents including customer or employee injuries gas drive offs theft property damage or safety hazardsComply with all government regulations health and safety codes and Company policiesReport any unsafe, unlawful or unethical behavior to management Administrative Duties Assist with inventory counts and stock level monitoringComplete required shift paperwork and timekeeping records accurately Other Duties:Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Work will primarily be performed in an retail store environment. Work will be performed both inside and outside on a regular basis, in most weather conditions. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts are required as a normal part of this position.Occasional local day travel, local travel to managed businesses, trainings or corporate office. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk extended period. The employee occasionally is required to bend, climb, stoop, lift, carry, push, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Required Qualifications:High School diploma or GED.CPR and First Aid Certification within 90 days of hire. Valid AZ driver's license, provide a 39-month satisfactory MVR report.Obtain a Tribal operator driving permit at the time of hire.A satisfactory result obtained through a test for illegal drugs.Acknowledge and agree to maintain a drug-free workplace. Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge and experience working with Gila River Indian Community or other Native American Communities. Proficient in MS office and other relevant workplace tools.
