Job Description

Job Description
A day in this role

You arrive to a clean, organized cell and review the production plan. You map out operator/machinist assignments, balancing workloads to keep parts moving and quality tight. Before the first spindle turns, you verify start-up steps, bring machines online, and set the tone for safety, cost control, and throughput. As the shift progresses, you watch performance trends, check parts with standard inspection instruments, and tune programs or tooling to keep quality on target. You coach new teammates on set-up, operation, and basic maintenance, while documenting actions and irregularities so the next shift picks up right where you left off.

When a program hiccups, you dig in—editing code, troubleshooting offsets, and resolving tooling issues to restore flow. You partner with supervision on planning, process improvements, and administrative tasks, and you provide timely feedback on team and equipment performance. You champion compliance to ISO: 9001:2000 and AS9100 quality standards, contribute input for annual performance reviews, and stay curious—tracking new machining methods, CNC program enhancements, and state‑of‑the‑art tooling. You take ownership of new requests and look for ways to add value, always supporting company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
