Journeyman Plumber

Location / Territory: Columbia, MO / Jefferson City & mid-Missouri

Compensation: $27–$36/hr ($56K–$75K annualized) + after-hours differential

Midway Electric is an established Columbia-based home-services company serving customers across mid-Missouri. The company combines electrical, heating, cooling, plumbing and security services under one organization and has served the region for more than 25 years.


Role Summary

The Journeyman Plumber will independently handle routine residential plumbing work while contributing to Midway's expanding plumbing operation. This is well suited to a plumber with a strong field foundation who wants greater ownership and a path toward Master-level responsibility.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform residential plumbing service and installation.
  • Complete rough-in, finish and repair work.
  • Diagnose common plumbing problems.
  • Complete routine jobs with minimal oversight.
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners.
  • Coordinate with Master Plumbers and other field personnel.
  • Follow applicable codes and safety requirements.
  • Document field activity accurately.
  • Maintain strong workmanship standards.
  • Join after-hours on-call rotation once trained.

Required Qualifications

  • 3–6 years of plumbing experience.
  • Active or eligible Journeyman credential.
  • Residential plumbing experience.
  • Strong rough-in, finish and repair skills.
  • Ability to independently complete routine work.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass required screening.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Commercial plumbing exposure.
  • Service-company experience.
  • Desire and eligibility to progress toward Master licensure.
  • Field-service software experience.
