JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE: Track Group Assembler

DEPARTMENT: Production

REPORTS TO: Facility Lead

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Position Summary: The Main duties of Track Assemblers are to build track groups for dozers and excavators.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

· Load assembly conveyor with track chain using material handling devices.

· Remove dried paint from mounting areas, as needed

· Install track shoes and fastening hardware, then snugly fasten bolts and track components into position.

· Torque bolts and nuts to requirements using manual and/or electric torque devices.

· Perform required product verifications/inspections.

· Coil wrap and secure finished track group assemblies.

· Occasionally use hand tools, drills, reamers, and other tools to allow close-fitting parts.

· Operate small cranes to transport or position large parts

· Operate a sit-down forklift

· Involves climbing, bending, stooping, and lifting to assemble.

· Other duties as assigned

· Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety polices.

Qualifications

Education:

Preferred high school education or GED.

Work Experience:

Requires up to two years of schooling or direct work experience; Must be mechanically inclined and have good basic knowledge obtained through schooling or work experience.

Physical:

Must be able to routinely stoop, kneel, bend, and climb beside various products or equipment to perform assembly, diagnosis, and repairs; Must be able to effectively see as well as operate equipment/ tools to perform assembly, repairs, and inspections. Must be able to routinely and physically lift/position various parts to perform repairs/service and manually handle parts up to 80 pounds, as well as use mechanical hoist for heavier parts.
