About the Role
A leading plastics manufacturer in Manitowoc, WI is adding an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to the 2nd or 3rd shift team. You’ll be the go-to expert ensuring production lines run safely, efficiently, and reliably.
A Day in the Life- Prioritize safety first, following all Safety, Health, and Environmental procedures in every task.
- Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues using indicators, gauges, and varied test equipment.
- Restore production equipment by adjusting, repairing, or replacing faulty mechanical and electronic components.
- Set up and operate shop equipment and hand tools, including drill press, grinders, band saws, cutting torch, and welder.
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Operate forklifts and aerial platform lifts to access and service equipment as needed.
- Troubleshoot and program VFDs and PLCs to stabilize and optimize equipment performance.
- Work safely around steam systems and boiler operations, making correct valve and equipment adjustments.
- Use a computer to research parts and repairs, access equipment manuals, and work within a CMMS to manage inventory and track work orders.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- 3+ years of industrial electrical and mechanical maintenance experience (required).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and blueprints (required).
- Understanding or experience troubleshooting and programming VFDs and PLCs (preferred).
- Understanding or experience troubleshooting and programming PLCs (preferred).
- Journeyman card, certificate, degree, or equivalent (preferred).
On-site in Manitowoc, WI on 2nd or 3rd shift.
