Match Staffing is actively hiring an experienced Manual Machinist with broach experience for an opportunity with one of our manufacturing partners. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented machinist who takes pride in precision work and producing high-quality parts.
Position Overview
The Manual Machinist will set up and operate manual machine tools—such as mills, lathes, grinders, and broaching machines—to produce precision components. Candidates must have hands-on broaching experience and the ability to read technical drawings and hold tight tolerances.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual mills, lathes, grinders, and broaching equipment
- Perform internal and external broaching (keyways, splines, etc.)
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders
- Inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, and gauges
- Maintain machines, tooling, and a clean work area
- Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust setups as needed
- Document production, materials, and quality checks accurately
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a manual machinist
- Broaching experience required (internal/external)
- Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, speeds, and feeds
- Ability to hold tight tolerances and perform precision measurements
- Blueprint reading and shop math skills
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
