Maintenance Technician

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE:Newberry Tanks & Equipment, a leading steel tank fabricator serving the oil jobber, agriculture, industrial, and equipment contractors nationwide, is growing. We manufacture steel petroleum storage tanks, bulk oil dispensing tanks and distribute accessory equipment. To support our rapidly expanding parts and manufacturing operations in our Memphis, TN location, we are looking for a Maintenance Technician. A successful candidate will efficiently and effectively:Demonstrate Safety in all areas of Maintenance work performedInstall and repair electrical and mechanical equipment and fixturesTroubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems for repairRepair and perform preventative maintenance on gear boxes and mechanical drivesRepair and perform preventative maintenance on lifts and cranesPerform facilities maintenance to include plumbingOperate industrial equipment - boom lift, scissor lift, overhead crane, forklift, and tractorsAdhere to all quality and safety codesQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:SKILLS:Previous experience as industrial maintenance technician, electrical maintenance experience a plusFamiliarity with electrical and mechanical schematics, blueprints, and manualsFamiliarity with 3 phase motors, 240/480V, electrical equipmentFamiliar with hand tools, shop equipment, welding, cutting, and fabricationFamiliarity with gearboxes and mechanical drivesStrong problem solving and critical thinking skillsEDUCATION:High School diploma/GED requiredSimple reading and arithmetic such as addition and subtraction of whole numbers and decimalsKnowledge of OSHA safety regulations for industrial plant & equipmentTrade or technical school certification, or relevant training in the military is a plusEXPERIENCE:Minimum of three years of successful continuous employment in a commercial or industrial settingPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Moderate physical effort; requires standing for entire shiftAbility to lift up to 60 lbs. throughout the dayGood eye and hand coordinationVisual acuity in order to perform tasks successfullyAbility to climb, stoop, and bend
